Bride spends her wedding night in a Tarragona jail

A newly-married bride spent her wedding night in police cells after assaulting the police officer who tried to break up a fight between the newly-weds’ two families at their wedding reception taking place at a hotel in Salou. The news of the incident on 10th October was reported by the Catalan newspaper El Punt this week, and has now reached the national press and even papers in the UK.
The argument was outside the hotel where, inside, some 30 friends and relatives were still enjoying the reception. One of the officers called out by hotel staff to break up the brawl found himself grabbed round the neck and slapped by the new bride, who was then carted off to police cells in Tarragona.
She spent much of her wedding night there as she was questioned over the incident, until her new husband, still in his wedding suit, came to collect her from the station. The bride’s brother was also arrested for the incident.
