More statements have been taken by the judge investigating the 'Poniente' case
The son and two sons in law of the administrator of two companies in El Ejido have been sent to prison today by Montserrat Peña, the judge investigating the corruption which has emerged in the Town Hall of the town in ‘Operación Poniente’.
The administrator of the companies Arborimar and Maviroad, José A., has also been refused bail and is now in prison. His two daughters have been granted bail, set at 50,000 €.
The wives of the two businessmen implicated in the case have been allowed home, but have been told not to leave the country.
The charges under investigation are money laundering, misuse of public funds and falsification of documents.
It has emerged that a visit by work inspectors made public on September 23, confirmed the illegal employment of workers at both companies. 20 people have been arrested in total as the investigations continue following the raid on the Town Hall carried out on Tuesday.
