There were 120 passengers on the seven boats which tried to reach shore

There’s been a wave of illegal immigrants attempting to reach the coast of Almería, with 120 migrants taken into custody between Monday afternoon and just minutes into Tuesday morning. The latest of the seven boats intercepted off shore was carrying 22 passengers on board.

All seven patera boats were spotted in the area of Cabo de Gata and Punta Polacra and it’s understood that there at least three children amongst the passengers. One migrant was travelling alone on the fifth boat to be intercepted.

Another two boats were escorted into port in Cartagena, Murcia, on Monday night.
