Search continues for 14 lost immigrants

The search is being concentrated off La Vila Joiosa
The search has restarted this morning for 13 immigrants thought to be on a patera small boat off the coast of La Vila Joiosa in Alicante. Reports indicate that some on board the vessel are thought to be ill.
A helicopter and two coastguard vessels are taking part in the search operation, but operations are being complicated by worsening sea conditions.
The search was mounted after one of the people on board the patera called the 112 emergency number on Tuesday afternoon. The caller was unable to say however whether the boat was off the coast of Alicante or Murcia at the time.
