Man crushed to death by falling marble at Almería factory

A second employee was seriously hurt when the accident happened at the factory in Cantoria

A 43 year old employee of a marble factory on an industrial estate in Cantoria died this Thursday morning when he was crushed to death beneath a pallet of marble. He’s named as J.J.L.F., and it’s understood a second worker was seriously hurt when the pallet fell.

It happened at Mármoles Martínez Caicedo, a small family business on Cantoria’s Las Palmeras industrial estate, shortly after 7am, when the two men were caught beneath the falling marble.

The injured man, a 37 year old who has not been named in the report on the accident by Europa Press, is in the Huércal-Overa district hospital with serious chest injuries.
