Local police will no longer have to be in attendance when your car is towed away
A change in the city’s bylaws means that the municipal tow trucks in Málaga will now be able to pick up and two away vehicles without any police needing to be present.
The town planning and mobility commission will approve the change on November 18 and it will come into force after the following city council planning meeting.
Diario Sur reports that the change means that the tow truck crew will now be able to make the corresponding denuncia against the owner of the vehicle concerned, informing the police afterwards.
Previously a member of the local police was needed to confirm any infraction and take photographs. Now it will be up to the tow truck crew, who can still call the police to attend if they wish.
The new rule has been baptised as the ‘two truck express’.
