One of the action scenes shot in Sevilla - EFE
Filming of 'Knight and Day' will bring the city more than 7 million Euro
Shooting has begun in Sevilla of some of the scenes for the new Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz film ‘Knight & Day’. The crew were filming in the centre of the Andalucía capital on Monday, using doubles in the place of the two stars for the action scenes which are being shot in the city.
Cruise and Diaz have yet to arrive in Sevilla.
Sevilla will be the backdrop for between 16 and 20 day’s filming of Knight & Day, taking place over two phases. The location shooting will bring the city more than 7 million €, including the 10,000 nights booked in the city’s hotels and the compensation businesses will be paid for the time they must remain closed during the filming. EFE gives the amount as 7.50 € per square metre for every day that they cannot open.
Added to that is the massive publicity for Sevilla from a film which the producers calculate will be seen by 300 million people across the world.
Filming moves on to Cádiz next week for a week’s shooting.
