It comes as Los Abrazos Rotos opens in the United States

Penelope Cruz it seems can currently do little wrong in Hollywood, with her face currently all over the television and magazine covers.

One reason is the opening of the latest Pedro Almodóvar film, ‘Los Abrazos Rotos’ in the United States on Friday, and another fierce speculation that she could be in line for an Oscar for her role in the Rob Marshall musical Nine. That opens in the United States on Christmas Day, and in January in Spain and the Oscar candidates are a announced on February 2. Variety magazine has already tipped her.
Cruz picked up an Oscar last year for her supporting role in Woody Allen’s ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’.

On Tuesday this week Penelope was on the David Letterman Show, and confessed she does not like her private life to be discussed in public, sidestepping questions regarding her relationship with Spanish actor Javier Bardem.

Things show no sign of slowing down either with the Madrid actress expected to be offered a role in Pirates of the Caribbean IV which starts shooting next year and which would put her opposite Johnny Depp.
