France says it continues to search for five ETA terrorists, including the alleged leader of the gang, 27 year old Arkaitz Aguirregabiria del Barrio, following the shooting dead of a French policeman in Paris last Tuesday.
French police released a video on Friday of what it said were the five ETA terrorists caught shopping on a store security camera, but five hours later admitted that in fact it showed five Catalan firemen on holiday. They were also detained for questioning be the French police.
Spanish Prime Minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, played down the importance of the error, while his Interior Minister, Alfredo Pérez-Rubalcaba, admitted that ‘things could have been done better’.
