It caused heavy flooding, power cuts and road damage
A heavy rain storm on Wednesday has brought flash flooding and power cuts to the island of Tenerife, with the overflowing drainage system causing four health centres to close. Many houses were also flooded, with a number of roads cut off.
A woman driver who became trapped in her car by the rising water levels in a tunnel in San Miguel de Abona had to be rescued by firemen.
Flooding also affected the Reina Sofía Airport, with 5 flights forced to divert to Gran Canaria.
Schools are opening as normal on the seven islands today.
