All the arrests were in the El Raval area of the city
Police in Barcelona have arrested more than 110 people in one of the biggest operations against organised prostitution the city has ever seen.
All the arrests were made in the area of El Raval, and most are foreign nationals.
The raids started at dawn on Wednesday. The Guardia Urbana city police, supported by National Police officers, were armed with sledgehammers to break down the doors of suspected brothels in the area. Police say the operation was the result of more than four months of investigation.
