AVE train makes its first trip to Madrid from Antequera

The journey was completed in a little over two hours
The AVE high speed train has completed its first journey from Antequera to Madrid. The train, which reached speeds of 300 km an hour, completed the journey in just 2 hours and 5 minutes.
It left Antequera’s Santa Ana station early on Wednesday, on a special charter by businesses in the tourism sector for a promotional event organised in the Spanish capital. Some 200 representatives from the sector in Madrid have been invited to attend, as well as the Mayor of city, Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón, and Development Minister, Magdalena Álvarez.
