IU leader believes alleged Melilla electoral fraud is not an isolated incident

Gaspar Llamazares, leader of the left-wing coalition Izquierda Unida, was quoted on Monday as saying that he does not believe that the alleged postal vote fraud on the part of the Partido Popular in Melilla is an isolated incident. He said it could be taking place in other Spanish cities and called on the Attorney General to take the matter in hand.
It follows allegations that the Partido Popular in Melilla could be guilty of potential electoral fraud in ordering a print run of duplicate postal voting slips.
The case is under court investigation, with private accusations in the case also coming from opposition parties in the Autonomous City.
Meanwhile Angel Acebes from the Partido Popular threatened legal action of his own in the matter, saying their was an orchestrated attack against the PP from the Socialists which he claimed had passed all limits.
He claimed that the printing of such postal voting forms was ‘normal practice’.
