300 kilos of cocaine have been intercepted at port in Algeciras

A Pontevedra man who was waiting to take delivery of the drugs at its destination in Vigo has been taken into custody

Civil Guard and Customs officers have seized 300 kilos of cocaine which was brought into Spain via the port in Algeciras.

It arrived on a container from Venezuela and was hidden amongst pallets of industrial materials destined for Vigo.

Officers allowed the goods to continue with their route to the north of Spain, where they arrested a 57 year old man from Pontevedra, named as F.Y.G.R., who was waiting to receive the merchandise.
