Sausages filled with pins have been found in a park in Durango, Vizcaya

The dog ‘Parche’ was the first to find them and is now home after a week in hospital.

Amy was the second victim. One mouthful can have tragic consequences, but in Amy’s case an x-ray showed she had only swallowed one pin.

In Parche’s case surgery was needed to extract the nine pins she had swallowed by eating a sausage. The dog’s owner has said, ‘From now on Parche will be taken for a walk wearing a muzzle.
