The new notes are more difficult to copy, longer lasting and honour Greek Mythology. 334 million people use the euro in 18 countries of the European Union.

The new notes correspond to the ‘Europa’ series, which feature new and improved security characters complicating even more contraband.
What is being described as a slow launch, the notes will start to appear in all 18 countries of the eurozone this Tuesday September 23 2014.
The European Central Bank is embarked on a second series of euro notes; the first of the second series was the five euro note, released on May 2 2013, and therefore to continue with the chain, the next second series note be for 20€.
In the new note the person from Greek Mythology is in the hologram and the water-mark, and the number 10 turns from green to dark blue when inclined.
The ECB says apart from the longer life and greater security, the new notes are cheaper to produce and have less impact on the environment.
They defend the euro notes as ‘a tangible symbol’ of the European Union, which contributes to united million of Europeans of all diversity.
Some commercial establishment and small companies would by now have received a leaflet and hologram card explaining the new note.
Businesses are asked to check any money reading or counting equipment to check they read the new notes correctly.
