A British boy nearly died from allergy after eating chips cooked in used oil

The oil had previously been used to fry fish, to which the nine year old is allergic – it happened in Finestrat (Alicante)

Two Guardia Civil agents saved the life on Monday afternoon of a 9 year old boy who had entered into anaphylactic shock, which was suffocating him because of his allergy to fish.

According to the Armed Institute, the agents were patrolling the streets for citizens’ service in the Finestrat cove, where they heard people calling for help. Inside one of the restaurants there was the nine year old boy who presented symptoms of ‘severe food poisoning and was chocking helplessly’

British, and resident of La Nucía, he was quickly rescued by the agents who used their patrol car to rush him to the La Vila district Hospital, where he was admitted into intensive care,

Last night, as a measure of courtesy the agents rang the mother of the child, who was delighted to say he had just been allowed home.
