The man now in custody, directed several companies on the islands of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote which had generated a debt to Social Security of 336,197 €

The National Police have detained in Lanzarote a 49 year old British man, without a criminal record, as the presumed author of the crime against social security reaching 336,197 € for more than 100 non-declared workers. Two other suspects have also been detained related to the facts.
According to the Police, the investigation started two years ago, when National Police agents were informed of three British citizens who were running restaurants and not declaring their payments or their own responsibilities, given they were all self-employed
The debt of 336,197 € has been accumulated since 2010.
The operation concluded with the arrest of a Briton in Lanzarote, a director of several companies implicated, and the testimony from a key witness before the competent judicial authority and with two more British suspects who were now fugitives
In the development of the operation the detectives from the National Police Unit against networks of illegal immigration and document falsification from the Provincial Brigade for Foreigners and Documents from Las Palmas, in the framework of the collaboration between the Ministry for Social Security and Employment and the Interior ministry for the fight against workplace fraud, with the collaboration of the Social Security and Work Inspectors from Las Palmas, which participation from civil servants in the Arrecife Police Station,
