The busiest Christmas ever at the Sierra Nevada

The number of skiers was higher in the 2003-2004 winter season and the non-skiers visited the leisure centres, the infantile complex Mirlo Blanco, the mini snow bikes and the toboggans on the snow of Borreguiles.
According to the public company Cetursa, the excellent affluence is a reflection of the new snow which the Sierra Nevada had maintained over Christmas with an average 99 kilometres of open ski runs – 38 kilometres more than the historical average, with the good weather and more sunny days and few wind related incidents.
The delegated councillor of Cetursa Sierra Nevada, María José López, underlined the strength of all the departments at the station for maintenance and quality, and the amount of skiable piste with the parallel program for Christmas, which had allowed families to enjoy the afternoons playing with children and then watch a film after the ski runs were closed.
‘The feedback were get from our clients has been very good, and this is more important then the numbers’ noted the delegated councillor, who also noted preparations had already started for the first phase of the World Championships for snowboard and freestyle ski, in less than two months time.
Next weekend, World Snow Day is celebrated in all the ski stations in the world.
