1799 - Agustín de Betancourt and Molina obtained from Carlos IV of Spain a Royal Decree by which the proposed installation of optical telegraphy in Spain was approved.
1902 - Barcelona a suspension of state guarantees is declared, following the holding of a general strike since February 14.

1908 - Barcelona explode two bombs.
1912 - The sessions of the Chambers on the occasion of carnival suspended.

1998 - Spanish biochemist US resident Mariano Barbacid accepts return to Spain after 24 years in exile to continue their research from the new National Cancer Center.
1998 - All of Spanish Congress unanimously approves the abolition of prison terms for draft dodgers.
2005 - the Spanish Medicines Agency approves the use of a new drug, called Velcade, which slows down the progression of melanoma.
