1287 - the Castillo de Santa Àgueda, the last Moorish stronghold on the island of Menorca, falls to Christian forces.
1812 - Cortes of Cadiz created the State Council.
1900 - Mercantile Circle in Gijon Leopoldo Alas Clarin gave a lecture entitled "Economic Materialism in Spain".
1917 - The Minister denies that the Spanish Navy Submarine Isaac Peral is in Danish waters.
1922 - The Spanish government negotiates with Abd el-Krim the rescue of prisoners
1930 - The resignation of José Calvo Sotelo as Minister for Tax opens up a crisis in the government of General Miguel Primo de Rivera (who led a military then a civil dictatorship from 1923-1930), leading to the General’s resignation just a few days later.
1938 - Franco's troops reach the Alfambra River.
1939 - The general Vicente Rojo Lluch, chief of staff of the Republican army, Negrin announced that there is no front.
