It happened before midday at 48 Calle Aragón. It was a neighbour who alerted the emergency services after hearing a loud impact.

Two 061 ambulances went to the scene, with agents from the National Police Force and the Police Commissioner of Ibiza, José Luis Garau. The health teams were unable to renovate the 23 year old and could only certify his death.

It seems, the youth was inside his home, on the top floor of the building, with three friends ‘some sources say some six people could have been living there’ and for circumstances under investigation why the youth fell down the interior patio.

When the agents entered the flat, two of the residents opened the door, while a third was sleeping. It is not yet known if these two youths witnessed the event.

Precisely after 1pm one of the occupants of the home left the building with the detectives and was taken by car to the police station to make a statement. Another had left minutes before.
Police sources say as yet there has been no detention and all the occupants of the flat are making statements.

It seems this was not the first time the police were alerted about the flat. Around 5am local neighbours rang up about the noise, but it is not known if this produced a police presence.

At 10am they heard another complaint from a neighbour who reported a loud argument was taking place between the occupants, and on this occasion the Police did call and found the situation had calmed down. According to sources close to this case, the victim was still asleep when the Police called, and therefore did not take part in the argument.

After 1pm the body was removed by the Pompas Funeral Directors. The Police await the autopsy results and are also dependent on the witnesses and if their statements concur.
However, all first indications show it was either accidental or voluntarily without the intervention of any third party.

The tragedy caused great interest among the locals and passers by who stopped to ask what had happened and shared comments on what they had heard.
