A British couple reported food poisoning in a hotel after drinking 109 drinks.

Jumping on the recent bandwagon the couple made their complaint 15 months after the alleged facts - hoping to obtain a large sum in compensation

They demanded the Hotel Gloria Palace despite ‘enjoying a wide variety of alcoholic drinks, alleging they were ill and were resting in bed, confirmed the manager of the hotel José María Mañaricua.

After a nine day drinking and ice-cream binge they denounced ‘stomach cramps and severe diarrhoea’ after eating at the hotel buffet, and claimed they had to stay in bed from the second day and ‘lost the rest of their holidays’

‘The spate of these fake denouncements has become viral and are costing bother and sometimes costs for both the airlines and the hoteliers, making the formal complaints once back home’ assured Steve Heapy, chairman of Jet2holidays, who have employed private detectives to halt this massive fraud which has increased by 700% over three years
