Two Britons spotted pointing laser pencils at pilots at Málaga airport as planes were landing


If was an off-duty national policeman who saw the flashes of light from the lasers and raised the alarm

The National Police have identified two Britons as supposedly responsible for dazzling several pilots of planes landing at Málaga airport. The suspects are a 41 year old man and his 15 year old son who were staying in a hotel in Torremolinos.

It was an off-duty policeman in the same hotel who raised the alarm after he noted at 23.00 two people with laser pens pointing at aircraft from the terrace of the hotel.

The Police advised the Málaga airport control tower who collaborated in the detention of the two Britons their pens were using green coloured lasers.

They face charges of a serious infraction against the Citizens Safety Law with fines ranging from 30,000 € to 600,000 € according to the Málaga Provincial Police Station
