May 16, 2017 - 7:10 PM
The 58 year old British man died this Tuesday around 2pm in the waters of Calasfonts in Es Castell. The man had been lunching with his wife and another British couple at a local restaurant, when he decided to dive into the sea from the quay of cove because he was feeling hot.

One of the restaurant owners told him bathing was prohibited in the area, but he took no notice and dived into the water.

Half an hour later, around 2.35pm, a family member from the adjoining restaurant had seen the body of the man face down only some 15 metres from the quay. He jumped into the water, turned the body over and saw that he had drowned, a second person jumped in to help bring the body to shore, where attempts to reanimate him failed.

Arriving later at the scene were the Local Police from Es Castell, 061 and port police.

Around 17 hours the judicial authority arrived at the scene and ordered the lifting of the cadaver.
