Agents from the Guardia Civil Company of Menorca realised two detentions for domestic violence in the early hours of last Sunday
May 20, 2016 - 7:10 AM
The first occurred in a central street of Alaior, when a woman phoned after a violent argument with her partner between 12 and 1 in the morning. The man, aged between 30 and 40, got aggressive during the argument and was therefore detained and after testifying to the judge was later released. The magistrate ordered a distancing order for the accused as is preparing a case against him.
The other arrest was practiced by agents of the Guardia Civil from Es Mercadal, a village in the centre of the island, and also in the early hours of Sunday. In this case the argument was between a British couple and there is evidence of physical aggression by the man.
The owners of a hotel in El Mercadal where the couple was staying alerted the Guardia Civil, who immediately arrived and detained the man, also in his 30’s.
The two abused women were each taken to the closest medical centre for check up under the protocol for such cases.
