Moroccan and Spanish Police have broken up an international drug network

The General Direction of National Security (GDNS) in Morocco in collaboration with the Spanish Police has made two detentions.

The statement from the GDNS fails to say where the arrests were made, but highlights the excellent cooperation between the two security forces which has led to the discovery of 1,500 kilos of cannabis and the arrest of two men from the organisation which trafficked between Morocco and Spain.

The GDNS and the Spanish National Police continue with their investigations to try and establish the extent of the criminal organisation and to find the leader in whichever territory he may be hiding.

Earlier this week the Moroccan Police intervened the same amount of cannabis in a raid near Rabat, but despite that coincidence they don’t think the two cases are related.

The joint police operation started on March 25.
