Rajoy has put into action his challenge to the motion for independence


The Prime Minister will ask for a dictum from the State Council in the resolution approved today in the Catalan Parliament.

Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy announced in Béjar (Salamanca) that he had already started the procedures necessary for the appeal to the Constitutional Court against the sovereigntist resolution approved today.

‘I have just signed the request to the State Council for a dictum to overturn the declaration approved today in the Catalan Parliament’.

Mariano Rajoy explained that after the extraordinary Cabinet Meeting on Wednesday, he will sign ‘a decree of unconstitutionality asking for the immediate suspension of this initiative and all its possible effects’.
