The presumed involved were at the disposition of the Instruction Court 2 in Arona at 9.30am yesterday morning, more than 48 hours after they were detained by agents from the Local Police from Santiago del Teide and Guardia Civil agents from Playa San Juan.

The order for admission to provisional prison and without bail, the judge took into account the testimonies of two witnesses who saw the brutal aggression suffered by the victim, Daryl Bhandal.

He died in hospital around 3am on Saturday morning, the day after his 36th birthday, after suffering severe head injuries.
The initial fight broke out earlier inside a hotel bar in Puerto de Santiago at midnight Friday.

The same day February 10, Bhandal arrived on the island to celebrate his birthday. He leaves two young children in Woolwich in SE London.

At the moment of the aggression both men were drunk, according to the witnesses who informed the agents when they arrived.

During the fight, Bhandal supposedly was beaten by the woman detained with a poster which marked the wet floor. The victim had fallen down and remained semi-conscious, and presumably, according to police sources, the aggressor returned to his hotel room.

However, he saw he had been injured from a bite or punch on his lip, and returned to the place only to again be seen to be beating up Bhandal. Robert was also taken to the Sur health centre and then was released to his hotel. Realising what had happened; local policemen and Guardia Civil agents arrived and arrested the suspects.

Given the crime is a homicide, after elaborating the first diligence, the matter was placed into the hands of the Territorial Team of the Judicial Police of the Guardia Civil in Playa de las Américas.

The cadaver of Daryl was taken to the Legal Medical Institute in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where the autopsy was performed.

Bhandal was a healthy and loved the gym, as his corpulent body showed, his 27 year old compatriot is also muscular as indicated by the fatal injuries he caused.

The Government Sub-Delegate for the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Guillermo Díaz Guerra and the Mayor of Santiago del Teide, Emilio Navarro, congratulated the agents yesterday for their diligence.
