Margaret Moran had closed off a right of way across her property in the Alpujarra
Instruction judge 2 in Órgiva, Granada province, has ordered that the British Labour Party M.P.
Margaret Moran must ‘stop carrying out any act which stops or complicates the right of way over her finca’ located at
Carataunas, a village of some 200 residents in the Alpujarra to the south of the Sierra Nevada.
It means that locals can use a track which crosses her ground, despite that the fact that the M.P. installed a gate to block the way.
Two local residents,
Jesús Rivera and
Beatriz Moskopoulos had taken the British M.P. to court considering the track was a public right of way and the judge, who examined the track in situ agrees with them.
Moran is reported to have purchased the property with her brother 'in the search for some peace and quiet', but the
Ideal newspaper reports has since contracted a JCP to dig up the track concerned.
She has now been ordered to make the area as it was.
