Hayfever sufferers are in for a bad month according to experts
Experts in Spain are warning that the month of May will be particularly bad for hayfever sufferers, and that doctors can expect ‘an asthma epidemic’ this month.
The grass pollens which cause streaming eyes and asthma are expected to be at high levels and those who live in cities can expect the pollution to make matters even worse.
Levels of upto 7,000 grains per cubic metre of air have already been seen in some areas.
Meanwhile in Granada a warning has been issued because of the high levels of olive pollen.
There are 11 million people in Spain who suffer from hayfever, and interestingly doctors have noted that many immigrants who have moved here start to suffer in their second or third year in Spain.
