They accuse Juan Pascual Azorín of possible crimes relating to eight development projects
The Esquerra Unida party, EU, has reported the Socialist Mayor of Elda to the Alicante Anti-Corruption Prosecutor, alleging that Juan Pascual Azorín is implicated in irregularities they have detected in eight development projects.
They say he could be guilty of a catalogue of crimes, including bribery, perversion of the course of justice, fiscal fraud, influence peddling, and planning crimes.
The Partido Popular’s candidate for Mayor of Elda, Adela Pedrosa, called for Azorín to give an explanation on what she called ‘serious’ accusations. ‘If the accusations are false,’ she said, ‘the Mayor should say so. If he says nothing, we can only understand that he is accepting the accusations.’
