Scientists think some fragments may have fallen to earth in the Ciudad Real area

A fireball fell across the centre of the country on Thursday night with sightings in Cuenca, Toledo, Ciudad Real and Valladolid.

Scientists believe it was a meteorite and say it’s quite a normal phenomenon, possibly a fragment from a comet which fell from earth orbit.

Astronomers think that some of the fragments may have reached the ground in the Ciudad Real area and a search has been established. An email address has been established for those who may have any information – spmn@ieec.uab.es
