It happened in Oñati, in Guipúzcoa, on Wednesday morning
Two people have died in a helicopter crash in Guipúzcoa, in the Basque Country.
It happened on Wednesday morning near Oñati, when locals contacted emergency services shortly before midday, reporting a thunderous noise in the Araotz area of the town.
A land and air search located the aircraft just over an hour later, together with its two occupants. No names have been released as yet.
El Mundo says the Basque police force, the Ertzaintza, said the dense fog in the area at the time could have been the cause.
The helicopter had set off from Santander at 10am, and, after refuelling in Bilbao, was bound for Teruel and then onto Albacete.
