The closing ceremony took place before Midnight on Sunday night
The San Fermines festivals in Pamplona are over for another year.
Thousands of people packed into the square in front of the City Hall carrying candles, to sing the traditional closing song, ‘Pobre de Mí’. Tradition says they should sing the song while waving their red neckerchiefs in the air.
It follows nine days of non stop celebrations, bull runs and fights, music and partying in the streets of the city – a total of 418 events at a rate of 46 a day.
Just before the chimes of Midnight the Mayor of the City, Yolanda Barcina, appeared on the balcony to say the fiestas were over – but only until next year.
