As always, typicallyspanish.com is the first place to read in English what
happens here!
I hope this video helps to stop this crazy tunnel.
Unfortunately there is a lot of money in the middle and some media try to
give the impression that the tunnel is not dangerous.
We are human and we make mistakes. But which mistake is worse?
MISTAKE A: You built the tunnel, you
made it wrong and Sagrada Familia
is damaged.
MISTAKE B. The tunnel won't endanger
the church but it is not built
due to the pressure from people like me ...
From the two options I prefer the second one.
Today I have read in La Vanguardia that
the tunnel is not legal because you cannot built anything near a heritage
site if you put in danger the site and we all know that risk zero does not
exist.
The most sad of all this is to realise that for some powerful people (say
the
ones in the Spanish government, say the
Catalan Major of Barcelona) the tunnel is more important than the Sagrada
Familia.
I am not a religious man but for me the Sagrada Fa,ilia is sacred.
For some it is the money.
Shame on thespeople because they put in danger our heritage with their
arroganve and upset anyone who loves art,
who loves Gaudí.
THESE POLITICIANS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED PERSONE NON GRATE IN GAUDI SITES ...

Protest video shows the collapse of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona

The video montage has been put together by a protest group concerned at plans to build a high speed train tunnel just metres from the monument.
One of Spain’s most famous buildings has fallen down – That’s the headline that is being placed on the Internet today via a series of You Tube videos in several languages which show the collapse of the Sagrada Familia Cathedral in Barcelona.
Fortunately for all the collapse of the Gaudí masterpiece is a video simulation, but put together by a local protest group L’AVE pel Litoral, who want plans to build a tunnel next to the cathedral for the new AVE high speed train line to be changed for another route by the coast.
They fear that the construction of the tunnel could indeed lead to the collapse of the monument, and if not the tunnels construction the years of vibration which would follow as high speed trains run through it.
