The town of Buñol in Valencia will turn into a sea of red as thousands of tomatoes are thrownOne of Spain’s most famous fiestas, the tomato fight in Buñol gets underway tomorrow – the last Wednesday in August.
115,000 tomatoes, brought in on five lorries, will be thrown by the 40,000 or so participants in the ‘
Tomatina’ this year.
The fiestas are held each year in honour of
San Lluis Bertran and
La Mare de Déu dels Desamparats.
