The town of Buñol in Valencia will turn into a sea of red as thousands of tomatoes are thrown
One of Spain’s most famous fiestas, the tomato fight in Buñol gets underway tomorrow – the last Wednesday in August.
115,000 tomatoes, brought in on five lorries, will be thrown by the 40,000 or so participants in the ‘Tomatina’ this year.
The fiestas are held each year in honour of San Lluis Bertran and La Mare de Déu dels Desamparats.
