The Civil Guard believe he may have been a passenger on the immigrant boat which landed on Carchuna Beach last Wednesday
The Civil Guard believe that the body of a man found on the rocks between Carchuna and Torrenueva on Saturday could have been a passenger on an immigrant boat which landed in Carchuna, on the coast of Granada last Wednesday. Twenty two of the passengers were taken into custody.

Newspaper Granada Hoy reports that the boat landed just 1.5 kms from where the body was found.

While unconfirmed as yet, the Civil Guard say the dead man appears to in his late twenties and could be from Sub-Saharan Africa.

Another immigrant boat, with an estimated 30 people on board, was meanwhile intercepted off the coast on Sunday afternoon. The passengers were due to be transferred to port in Motril.
