smallerBy h.b. - Sep 19, 2007 - 8:15 AMA separate area for Islamic ceremonies is to be created in the new PGOU Urban PlanThe new municipal cemetery in
Alicante is to have a section for Muslim burials.
The plan, proposed by the councillor,
Andrés Llorens, has been accepted by the Islamic Community in the city and the design will be approved in the next PGOU Urban Plan.
The main difference between the two areas of the new cemetery will be that in the Muslim section the typical Spanish ‘niches’ are not allowed, and all bodies must be put to rest below ground.
