Civil Guard recovered the drugs in two operations in Almonte and Isla Cristina
There were two important drug hauls in Huelva province on Wednesday, where Civil Guard seized a total four tons of cannabis resin in separate operations in Almonte and Isla Cristina. Seven people are in custody, according to the report in Huelva Información.
Officers recovered more than two and a half tons of the drug in the first operation on the Playa del Hoyo, in Isla Cristina, early on Wednesday. No arrests were made on that occasion.
The arrests came in Almonte when officers on surveillance swooped on the Playa Castilla, after earlier that day, the remains of a boat were found on the shore and the drugs were found buried in the dunes.
The suspects are four from Ukraine, another from Lithuania, and two Spaniards.
