The former Real Madrid player was capped 89 times for Spain during his career
The former Real Madrid footballer, Fernando Hierro, has been named the new Sports Director of the Spanish Football Federation, the FEF.

Born in Vélez Málaga, Málaga, the 39 year old former Spanish captain and also captain of Real Madrid, has played for both Real Madrid and Valladolid, was capped 89 times for Spain, and played for the Qatar club, Al Rayyan, and Bolton Wanderers before his retirement in May 2005.

He’s played in four World Cups.

Hierro has been in his new job for some weeks now, but will officially be presented as the new Sports Director of the Spanish Football Federation at the Ciudad de Fútbol, in Las Rozas, Madrid, on Thursday.
