Sailor in coma after accident off the Postiguet beach in Alicante

Her rescue was delayed because of the lack of lifeguards on the beach after the season
A 34 year old Madrid woman, named as Carmen Hellín, who was sailing off the Postiguet beach in Alicante yesterday is now in a very serious condition in a coma in the Alicante General Hospital.

She was pulled from the water when drowning following an accident, but the local beach was without lifeguards as the service ended the season on September 16th.

It meant that the was on the beach being reanimated for as long an hour after being rescued by her friends who had been sailing with her.
