It happened the day before he was due to return home to Austria
An Austrian helicopter pilot died on Wednesday after his aircraft came down onto the CA-4202 road in Cádiz province, in Conil de la Frontera.

He was 30 years old and lived in Conil itself.

EFE reports that he was a light aircraft instructor at the Medina Sidonia airbase and was due to return home to Austria on Thursday.

The accident happened at 12.30 pm when the helicopter crashed into electricity cables near the port and went out of control. The pilot died instantly after managing to veer the machine towards an empty plot as he tried to avoid hitting any houses, but crashed into the wall of one of the properties below.

There were no other injuries in the accident, but electricity supply to the area was cut off for a number of hours.

His name was Alwin. He teached me in flying a gyrocopter 8 weeks ago in hungary and I've met him several times on the aerodrome afterwards. He was a very nice and humorous guy. Hearing the bad news today I was really shocked and sad. I' haven't known him very long time but it was always a pleasure for me to see him so I know I will miss him.

Dear Alwin - Rest in Peace

In heartfelt mourning
In tiefer Trauer, Erich
