The long-term claim has been repeated in a new book published by the Spanish Foriegn Ministry
The Spanish Foreign Ministry has published a book in which it says that Spain will not give up on its demands over the sovereignty of Gibraltar, and that it will continue to discuss the matter in bilateral meetings with Britain.

The book, ‘La cuestión de Gibraltar’ and its contents will surprise many on the rock where the three way talks, including the Gibraltarians, have over the past two years resulted in progress such as the joint use of Gibraltar Airport.

The book, according to an article in El Mundo, looks back at the problem from a Spanish perspective and cover the period up to the Córdoba three-way agreements, but notes that this does not imply that the basic question is solved, or the historic demands over the rock have been abandoned.

The book also notes that Gibraltar is the only colony in Europe, and the matter should be resolved by the Brussels process in the framework of the United Nations. However a willingness for the three party talks is also expressed in the new publication.
