Jorge Martín made the statement to a webmasters' congress in Madrid

‘You can download what you want from eMule’. These were the words of Jorge Martín, Head of the Security Group of the Judicial Police Technology Investigation Brigade, who was addressing the first edition of the Spanish Webmasters Congress.

His statement to the more than 2,500 webmasters attending the event in Madrid was greeted with applause. He said that there was no problem with downloading content from the peer to peer network, although he did add that the copyright material could not then be sold.

Quite how his declarations will be accepted by the SGAE copyright organisations remains to be seen.
