The project from Málaga City Hall proposes 544 mooring points in El Morlaco
A meeting of the governing team at
Málaga City Hall on Friday is expected to approve a report on the technical and economic viability of building a new marina in
El Morlaco, between
Baños del Carmen and
La Caleta.
It is a project which is included in the town’s General Urban Plan, but which would still need authorisation from the
Andalucía Public Ports Authority.
The marina itself would include 544 mooring points and a sailing school, with a 35,000 square metre park also forming part of the project, together with a centre for marine investigation and commercial premises.
Terra España gives some details of projected costs and income: an outlay of 30 million €, with profits expected from the third year of operation. They put the price of a berth at 1,300 € per square metre.
