It happened last Wednesday night and is thought to be a settling of scores between criminal groups
Police in Jerez are investigating an incident last Wednesday night when a 30 year old man was first thrown out of a car, then run over by the car, and then stabbed several times.
It happened close to the Torrox lagoon to the south of the town, and the police think the attack was part of a gang settling of scores by common criminals.
The victim is said to be in stable but serious condition after surgery in hospital. He has been named with the initials J.A.E. and health workers say it was a miracle that he survived.
Police are waiting for him to recover before questioning him.
