The Mayor of Marbella says the true population of the town is more than double the official figure
A campaign is underway in Marbella to inform the foreign population of the need to register as officially resident with the Town Hall, to allow the corporation to receive the benefits, services and investments which are available from the state.
The Partido Popular Mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, said in a press release that such benefits are based on official population figures, and pointed out that while Marbella’s official figure is around 125,000, the true number is estimated at more than double that, increasing by thousands more during the high season.
She said the campaign will continue throughout the legislature, and met with members of the Scandinavian Rotary Club in Andalucía to that end, last Friday.
