He says he has extensive experience in primary education but is not allowed to apply for a position
A supply teacher from Vélez Málaga says he is starting a hunger strike on Monday against regulations from the Junta de Andalucía’s education department which mean that applications for jobs as primary school teachers will only be accepted from those who specialise in that area. David Fernández told 20 minutos that the regulations leave out those who specialise in music and physical education, and believes he should be allowed to apply on the grounds of length of service with, he says, more than one school year’s experience in primary education.

Fernández said the regulation affects another 4,000 teachers in Andalucía who are in a similar situation.
