77% of Spaniards are in agreement with the new anti-smoking laws

The new ban on working in the workplace comes into effect on January 1st

A new survey carried out by the Centre for Statistical Investigation, CIS, has shown that 77% of Spaniards are in favour of the new laws which will prohibit smoking in the work place.

The same number of people support the law which will only allow smokers to light up only in specific areas of bars and restaurants of more than 100 square metres in size.

The figures come following the passing of the new law in congress, and the law itself comes into effect on January 1st.
